Breeding Program
RMD East-European Shepherds breeds East-European Shepherds and working line German Shepherds with strict standards and careful selection. We are not a high-volume kennel. Our focus is producing exceptional dogs for protection, service and family companionship.
Our breeding stock is imported directly from Europe, sourced from proven champion show and working lines. Every dog incorporated into our program is chosen for a specific purpose. Structure, temperament, working ability, and overall quality are carefully evaluated before a dog is ever considered for breeding. Only the very best are accepted into our program, and many dogs are excluded for not meeting our standards.
Our East-European Shepherds (VEO) are bred to conform closely to the RKF standard, emphasizing correct structure, strong bone, balanced proportions, and efficient, powerful movement. We prioritize functional anatomy that supports real working ability rather than exaggerated features.
Health is a non-negotiable foundation of our breeding program. All breeding dogs are health tested, ensuring we produce dogs with strong, functional bodies capable of long, active working lives. Structural soundness and durability are essential for true working dogs, and we do not compromise in this area.
Temperament is equally critical. We select dogs with solid nerves, confidence, clear heads, and strong working drives. Our dogs are environmentally stable, mentally resilient, and capable of working under pressure. These traits are essential whether a dog is destined for protection work, service roles, or life as a trusted family companion.
From each carefully planned litter, we retain only the most promising puppies to advance our program and supply our trained protection dog program. These select dogs are developed for advanced work, ensuring that only dogs with the proper drives, stability, and aptitude move forward into training.
Based in Toronto, Ontario, RMD East-European Shepherds has placed puppies throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico as family companions, service dogs, and serious estate guardians. No matter where they are placed, each dog represents our commitment to quality, responsibility, and ethical breeding.
